As we mature in the Lord, various sins, bad attitudes, improper words and thoughts no longer have place in our lives. As we grow in the Lord, we become more of a threat to the enemy and in so doing, we also become more exposed to the enemy. As we journey through this process, the Lord is helping us mature to deeper levels of holiness as the Holy Spirit shows us which problems need to be removed from our lives. This is why it is so important to listen to the Holy Spirit and mature in our sensitivity of hearing the Holy Spirit.

It is so important, that we pay attention to the Lord's direction in our daily lives, so that all during the day, we are letting the Lord have control in all that we do, with all that we are and with all that we have. We need to be living holy lives not only at church, but at home, at work and everywhere we go. We cannot afford to be two-faced; we must strive to be honest at all times and diligently work to keep our hearts and lives clean. Why? Because God sees us clearly, as only He can. Oftentimes we cannot see ourselves squarely or realize our real motives. Sometimes we can fool ourselves and sometimes we can fool each other, but we can never fool the Lord. And if we listen to Him and His guidance, He will prune us and help us to find the real truth about ourselves and be able to make true positive changes.

As we mature in our walk with the Lord and He directs us, He also equips us with whatever we need for the assignments He call us to do and whatever we need to become the persons He is shaping us to be. Hebrews chapter 4 talks about “entering into His rest,” this is not alluding to getting ready for bed! The Lord wants us to be stress-free, worry-free and fear-free, knowing that we are in His mighty hand and that He is taking care of us! This kind of “rest” is like a “Sabbath rest” (Hebrews 4:9) meaning that we don't quit doing all that we have to do, but we do it from a place of rest. We go through our daily walk with the peace that Jesus spoke of “that passes all understanding” and keeping our trust in our Lord who is the Almighty GOD!!

• John 15:5, 7, 10-11 “I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without Me [...] If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it [...] If you obey My commands, you will remain in My love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in His love. I have told you this so that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

What marvelous promises!

Jesus is saying that we can be in Him and He in us! And the same with His Words... 

Jesus is the Word and if He remains in us, then we come to “learn His will and ways” as we learn to “have the mind of Christ”  as in 1 Corinthians 2:16 – we learn to think as the Lord does. This leads us to ask and pray more according to God's will and in turn, help ensure more positive answers to our more Spirit-led prayers! Hallelujah! This also means, that we won't be asking so much for things that lead to negative results that come with regret.

There is so much peace and comfort living life in His will! When we live in “the center of God's will,” our victory is secure over the adversities of life and the attacks of the enemy!

As Jesus remains in us and we in Him, His love and light shine through us. God's goodness causes us to live faithfully to Him showing others His goodness and love. While many are far from knowing Him, by seeing God's goodness and love in our lives, it gives them the chance to want to trust and serve Him too. We share God's grace and love because we received His grace and love, not because we expect rewards from Him. The Lord in His mercy and grace, made us His children. The Lord protects us, blesses us, watches over us and provides for us, all because He loves us. His love is more than enough!

Our Lord wants us to step out of our daily worrying routines. We are so used to considering all our problems and challenges at every angle imaginable. Not only does the Lord want us to trust Him through it all but, the Lord wants us to use “the energy” we applied in our “problem solving” (worrying) and apply the same time and effort in meditating on His Word. He wants us to read our Bibles with the Holy Spirit's help, and understand who our Heavenly Father really is and what He expects from us. He desires to reveal deep truths to us that we can apply in our daily lives. He loves to have us search and dig into His Word, hungry to live a Christ-centered and victorious life. With God, life is not just a “set of rules and rituals” or “a certain order of actions.” Daily reading the Bible at a certain time and way, praying at a certain time and way, making sure we do a certain amount for others and at the end of the day; going over the list and check it all off. All these facets of our daily walk are important, but we must not let them become ritualistic. The Lord wants us to become more “like Him” having His nature working in our thoughts, desires and emotions where it's natural and not just ritual. His nature working in us during all the happy and sad times and all the in-between times!

After we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and we live in obedience to Him. He comes to dwell in us. John 14:23 says Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. Then my Father will love him, and we will go to him and make our home within him.”

He wants to become “our identity” so that we can understand what Colossians 1:27b says: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” “Christ in us” means that He is in what we think, in what we do and in the way we act. When we do all as God wants, we have full peace in Him, because we are in the center of His will.

This is the big truth that God wants all His children to get so that no one or no thing could ever separate us from Him or His plan for us. When we really get this, we are fully His children and He will remain in us and us in Him!

The greatness of our God has no physical limitations. We hold back heaven because of our lack of understanding and the level of our faith. Nothing is impossible with the Lord. Our understanding is so limited. God is so magnificent, so extraordinary, so huge that the universe cannot hold Him... Man is not even visible on earth from space. And while the earth seems huge to us, when considering the size and vastness of the universe, it is completely insignificant. And to think that “God - with no limits” - chooses to live within us- you and I, such limited human beings! How can we ever doubt His power, strength, greatness or omnipresence???

If we can just remember to always keep in mind, even a tiny bit of who He is, then we can live fearless lives! No other humans, no demons, nor powers from the physical, visible world or from the spiritual world will be as threatening for us. So that applying James 4:7 "Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you,” will become doable! We must never forget the essence of 1John 4:4b that “greater is He that is in us, that he that is in the world.” Through the One who dwells in us, we can become more than conquerors when we choose to fight the “good fight of faith,” daily, as Paul is telling us to do in 1Timothy 6:12.

Living a faithful life is the key of dwelling in God's presence, in His glory.
