HEAVENLY BLESSINGS
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, - Ephesians 1:3
God created us with the capacity to think, make decisions, feel and especially, with free will. We are to choose to bless our Lord by praising Him living right for Him with thankful hearts. Because David understood that our praise blesses God, he has urged us to bless the Lord and praise Him for all His works in Psalms 103 and 104.
God blesses us all the time, with true life-giving “spiritual blessings.” The Lord has already prepared every spiritual blessing for us, not withholding anything. Father God has amazing blessings for all of us who are in Christ and they all come from the Holy Spirit. God blesses us with His gifts and we are to bless Him with our praises that come from sincere, loving and obedient hearts.
Whenever we realize how much we have received from God and all He has done for us, we feel compelled to give Him something back. Even if we would give Him all our possessions, they are already His. But God loves and blesses us so that we will respond to Him with so much love that we start to praise, glorify and honor His holy Name. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit are meant to benefit and empower us to be able to live victoriously and reign in life.
Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, You are so worthy of all my love, praise and appreciation. Without You, I could not even breathe! In You I live, move and have my being. Dear Jesus, You are the vine and I am Your branch. Please help me to always remain in You so that the Holy Spirit’s gifts can function in me so that through me You can bless others. Thank You so very much, dear Lord for blessing me beyond my imagination and help me to praise and glorify Your Name for ever and ever! Amen.

GOD CHOSE US TO LIVE HOLY BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD
- Just as He chose us in Him (Christ) before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, - Ephesians 1:4
God provided salvation for all mankind, but only those who accept Jesus’ sacrifice and live for Him will be saved. The Lord chose us to be His and by us asking Jesus to truly be our Lord we are saved. He knew ahead of time that mankind would sin, and we could do nothing to earn our salvation. But to make it to heaven, we must continue to choose good over evil, and by loving God more than anything or anyone else, do our part by living in obedience to Him.
God created us with free will, to be able to choose to serve Him. Before He created the universe, God declared the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), exactly foretelling the future. All the prophecies from God’s Word that have had to be fulfilled throughout history, have come to pass, proving that He knew all that every human being and all creation would do, from the beginning to the end of time. God knows it all. To know that God chose us to be His in Christ is huge, but it is still up to us to choose Christ, truly follow Him and endure to the end. He has prepared the way for us, but we must choose to walk on it. Long before we were born, God knew everything we would do. He wants us to be holy, consecrated, set apart for Him and to live a purpose driven life. Our purpose is to imitate Jesus, to become more like Him and to do what God has called us to do.
Suggested prayer: Dear Lord, thank You with all my heart that You chose me to follow You and You sent Your Holy Spirit to convict me of sin. Thank You for Your love and mercy that You pour upon me daily to help me remain on the narrow path! I am who I am because of Your love and grace. Please help me Lord to follow You closer and to get to know You more. Please help me become all You want me to become, to be fully dedicated and sold out to You, accomplishing Your plan for my life. Please help me understand more Your love and receive more of it, every day, in the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

FATHER GOD PREPARED OUR ADOPTION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
- Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as [His own] children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the kind intention and good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. - Ephesians 1:5-6
God the Father, predestined us all to become His children and that is why He sent His Son to redeem us. In His amazing love for us, He planned before the beginning of the world, for us to be adopted as His own children, through Jesus Christ. Does this mean that we lost our free will? No way. God did His part for our salvation, now it is our turn to fulfill our part, by choosing Christ and living a pure life in obedience to the Lord.
God is sovereign, but He is just too. He never forces us to be His, even if we choose not to be. Once God gave mankind free will, He has never canceled it. Whenever we chose to accept our salvation through God’s grace, we became His children and we brought pleasure to Father God. Jesus made the way for us to be accepted in God’s family! Glory to His holy Name.
Suggested prayer: Thank You heavenly Father for deciding in advance to adopt me into Your own family, by Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to know that this was Your will and it gave You great pleasure, dear Lord. You did all it takes for me to be Your child and by Your amazing grace I am accepted in Your Beloved Son. What a joy to be Your child and to know that You already know all about me. I am no surprise to You and You still wanted me to be Yours. Please help me to remain true to You and live for Your glory, fulfilling Your will. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

JESUS IS THE DOOR TO GOD’S KINGDOM
- “I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security).” - John 10:9 (AMP)
Only through Jesus we can enter into God’s Kingdom and be saved, living forever. He is the only “door” to God’s Kingdom and once we receive Him as Lord and repent of sin, we step into the spiritual realm. We are saved from all dangers of life, while we are in the secret place with Jesus and we will enjoy eternal life, where Jesus is! Once we enter His Kingdom, we are to daily make the right decisions by following the guidance of the Holy Spirit and remain in Jesus.
God created us with free will, so we are free to have the most intimate relationship with Jesus, as there is a place where there is just His presence and us. It is like a place of green nutritious pastures, where our inner selves are feed and we become transformed more and more like the Beloved of our hearts. The more time we spend there, the deeper our roots will grow into the rich stable soil of being God’s children. There we find the best protection, wisdom and clarity for what we are to do next, strength to handle all challenges and the right perspective about our lives. In the glory of our Lord’s presence we lack nothing and we learn how to reach out into the spiritual realm and get what Jesus has already provided for us. And that is health, wisdom, protection, guidance and everything we need to live right for God. By entering into the spiritual realm, through Jesus, when we go out into our daily lives, we go out stronger and more confident, as we know that in our spirits we are covered, protected and people or demons cannot really hurt us in the long run. No matter how hard they try, our eternity is secure in Jesus and all the hurt of life, our Lord will turn for our good, one way or another. Those are the “green pastures” of spiritual security and abundance.
Suggested prayer: Thank You dear Lord for showing me how important intimacy with You is. I love being in that place where only You surround me and my inner self feeds on the best food possible. Oh Lord, I need you more than anything and I want more of You! Please help me to be in You all the time, no matter what my circumstances are for me to never look for help or comfort anywhere else. Thank you Jesus for all the security and protection I have in You and the more time I spend in Your presence, the more blessed and happy I am. Amen.

ENVY AND SELF-SEEKING ARE JUST THE BEGINNING OF EVIL THINGS
- For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. - James 3:16
It is not enough to talk right and behave well, we need to have a pure heart and a renewed mind through God’s Word. If we consider ourselves wise and right with God but continue to have jealousy and selfish ambitions in our hearts, we are only deceiving ourselves and God’s truth is not in us. Living in such a way is “earthly (secular), natural (unspiritual), even demonic” (James 3:15b, AMP).
Whatever thinking patterns we follow affect our decisions and will later be reflected in our emotions and speech. Jesus is the Word and the Truth, but only by knowing Him do we become truly free. It takes time and effort to change and allow God’s Word to replace the old worldly way of thinking. People who live in malice, envy, jealousy, and selfishness are deceived and all manners of evil can become part of their lives. One evil decision brings another and as they multiply, their effects will ruin, not only that persons’ life, but they will also affect the lives of those around them. But the Lord can heal, restore and change everyone who seeks His help. God loves every person and wants them all to be saved and become His child. Glory to the Lord!
Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me keep my heart pure and humble, not considering myself wise in my own capacity. Please help me to not allow selfishness, jealousy, envy or other evil feelings to overtake my heart. Lord, please help me fight against all evil feelings and never quit until You help me get the victory. Please give me Your wisdom and fill my heart with Your love and peace and give me Your humility and meekness. Thank You and praise You forever and ever, amen.

THE WISDOM FROM ABOVE
- But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. - James 3:17
While the wisdom that leads to envy, jealousy, confusion and every evil work is earthly and even demonic, the true wisdom, that we can only receive from God is exactly the opposite. God’s wisdom, will always bring the desire to have and fight for purity and not sin. It causes us to recognize God’s peace and to diligently seek it. True godly wisdom recognizes authority and finds it just to obey it.
No one can be truly merciful being lead by human wisdom. The secular mindset leads to pride, elevation of self and lack of compassion for those in need. God’s wisdom produces all the good fruit of the Spirit in us, ponders things right, according to God’s value system and is always totally sincere with no hypocrisy. The wisdom that comes from above helps us to think and make decisions pleasing to God and which benefits us the most.
Suggested prayer: Thank You Lord for Your wisdom. Please help me to always seek it and never count on human wisdom. I want to live to please You Lord and only with Your help can I do it. Please help me have a pure and peaceful heart, to be gentle and obedient to Your Word, be full of mercy and compassion, producing only the good fruit of righteousness by living sincerely for You, without hypocrisy or taking sides. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

PEACE IS THE RIGHT SOIL FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS
- Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. - James 3:18
In Matthew 5:9, Jesus says that “blessed are the peace-makers, because they shall be called the children of God.” It truly is amazing to realize that by being God’s children, we can be people that not only love peace, but that also make peace, by calming down arguments and disputes. We can do that because the peace of the Holy Spirit is in us and once we learn we have it, we can draw it out and our lives can be completely transformed.
Anger, bitterness, worry, fear and arguing are peace killers and never produce righteousness, but the contrary. Whenever we allow any evil feelings to fill our hearts, it is really hard not to sin. We are to choose right all the time, not only once in a while, if we want to be the peace-makers. As Paul wrote in Galatians 6:7 “whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.”
By keeping our peace and fighting for it, we do ourselves a huge favor. “Being right” in most arguments is way overrated and “having the last word” often only rob us of our peace and joy. The more we fight to keep our peace, the less we sin and the more blessed we are.
Suggested prayer: Father God, thank You so much for allowing me to taste Your peace and for providing the tools to maintain it. Please help me to make the right choices and sow the good seeds in peace so that I may reap the fruit of righteousness, every day of my life. I love You dear Lord and I love to have Your peace that surpasses all understanding! Glory and praises to Your holy Name, amen.

THE "CHIEF CORNER STONE” IS JESUS CHRIST
- Therefore also it is contained in the scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious: and he that believes on Him shall not be confounded.” - 1 Peter 2:6
The apostle Peter wants to make sure that we understand that Jesus completely changed the religious system of the Old Covenant, by fulfilling all the prophecies of the Old Testament, including the one quoted in the above verse, from Isaiah 28:16.
The cornerstone is the key stone, that bonds and holds together two walls that meet, resulting in firm, stable unity. Jesus has been chosen and very honored by Father God and should be by us, too. He deserves all our honor, praise and obedience, not only for what He did for each of us, but also for who He is.
Jesus brought us back into union with God, by faith and obedience to Him. For those who choose to reject Christ and disobey the Word, He will become a stumbling stone (Isaiah 8:14-15) and will end up damned. But for all of us who choose Him and choose to love, honor, praise and live to please Him, Jesus forgives all our sins and we will not be judged for any of them.
Suggested prayer: Glory and honor to Your holy Name Lord Jesus, for being who You are! Father God chose for You to come as a human, fulfill the law, pay for our sins, reconciling mankind back with God. Thank You Jesus for all You did! You prepared the way for me to walk in love and receive God’s promises, even if I am a Gentile. Father God, please help me live right, fulfilling Your call for me and to love and obey You everyday of my life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

GOD HAS A PERFECT PLAN AND CALLING FOR EACH OF US
- Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you. He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. - Psalms 55:22
The Lord has prepared a plan and a calling for every single one of us. Whatever He has called us to do, might seem hard or difficult, but as long as we learn to truly give it to Him, He will sustain us. We can give it to the Lord, by trusting Him to make a way when needed, give us the right solutions, step by step, and be able to go to sleep at night instead of worrying about how to make things work.
As long as we love our Lord and keep our hearts pure, by loving to be obedient, pleasing God and sincerely repenting when we sin, we have Jesus’ righteousness. Our righteousness is a gift received by faith in Christ. God promises to sustain us, as long as we are cleansed by Jesus’ blood, because we want to be His and that He will not allow anything to remove us from Him! Hallelujah!
Suggested prayer: My Lord and my Savior, please help me to always cast my burdens upon You and trust You to see me through. I am so blessed to be Your child, heavenly Father, and I find so much comfort in knowing that as long as I live for You, nothing can remove me from the right path to heaven. Please help me keep my heart pure and feed my spirit on Your Word daily so that my mind may be constantly renewed by Your truth. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

BY FAITH AND OBEDIENCE TO THE LORD WE RECEIVE HIS LIGHT
- “Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon his God.” - Isaiah 50:10
The whole 50th chapter from the book of Isaiah prophesies about Jesus, the coming Messiah. For those of us who have already received the Light of Jesus, this verse is easier to understand than for the Jews of the days of Isaiah. The persons addressed in this call, are those who reverently “fear the Lord” and “obey the voice of His Servant.”
Jesus was and is the most perfect Servant of the Lord and because of His total obedience, God gave Him all authority on heaven and earth. He is the light of the world and only those who receive Him as Lord and Savior, can have His true light. Without following Jesus’ counsel, one walks in darkness, deep trouble and cannot have His Light shining in their heart.
We are urged to trust, rely upon God and be confident in the Name of our Lord, so that we may lean upon and be supported by Him.
Suggested prayer: Thank You Lord for all the support and strength I have in You. Praise You Lord for proving to me again and again how much You love me and how much strength I can receive from You. I am always a victor in You and Your light brings clarity and peace in my daily walk with You. Please help me to always hear and obey your voice, dear Jesus and follow all Your instructions. Thank You for all You do for me, with all my heart, amen.

THERE IS PEACE IN OBEYING GOD
- Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble. Lord, I hope for Your salvation, and I do Your commandments. - Psalms 119:165-166
Submission to God’s Word brings true peace. God gave us His Law, for our benefit and not to be a harsh Father. Only when we obey His will, do we not sin keeping our peace and sparing ourselves much pain and suffering. As Moses wrote in Deuteronomy 4:40 “you shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children...” For things to go right and us to prosper in life, we need to follow God’s instructions.
Sin steals our peace and joy, but when we love God’s Law, we know it is best for us and we love to obey it. While we live in obedience to God’s Word, we do not give the devil the right to hurt us, because we have no unforgiven sin to condemn us. Because we live right, loving, and obeying God, and because we are under the New Covenant, which is better than the Old Covenant, we have our sins forgiven and washed away by Jesus’ blood. All of us who die in Christ are saved and will make it to heaven.
Suggested prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Word that teaches us how to live right. Submitting to Your instructions brings me great peace and comfort, because I know that I am protected and secure in You and nothing can snatch me out of Your hand. I am in the safest place, and I can have Your peace, that surpasses all understanding and nothing can condemn me. Please help me love and obey You all my life, so that my salvation to be secured. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

GOD ALSO HEALS OUR SOUL WOUNDS
This is true for all of us, not only for the people of Israel. God created each of us unique, but even so, every single one of us gets their heart broken and needs healing from time to time while living on earth. Who can know better than our Creator what we need to be healed and what works for us?
Our Lord wants the best for us, and He does not enjoy it when we suffer. That is why God does not allow us to be hurt more than we can bear, and He stops the hurts that cannot be used for our good in the long term. People around us, as they exercise their free will, do not consider what the Lord says into their hearts for them to stop any evil actions against us, may end up hurting us. When that happens, if we remain true to our Lord, He will see us through and put the best healing balm on our wounds and heal us. In our Lord we find all the strength, comfort and healing we need, no matter what we have to go through.
Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, no one else knows better than You, when I hurt and what I need to be healed. I know that I cannot always avoid having a broken heart, so please help me make the right choices so that I will not bring trouble to myself. Lord, please help me follow Your directions so that I can do things right, obeying Your will. Thank You so much Holy Spirit for being my Comforter and Helper, in every bad situation I must face and that You never leave me alone, in the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.
- He (God) heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. - Psalms 147:3
This is true for all of us, not only for the people of Israel. God created each of us unique, but even so, every single one of us gets their heart broken and needs healing from time to time while living on earth. Who can know better than our Creator what we need to be healed and what works for us?

FATHER GOD IS THE SOURCE OF ALL COMFORT
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
It is so good to remind ourselves that God is not only the Father of our Lord, but He is also our Father, the source of all mercy and comfort! Our Lord, the Creator of all compassion and mercy, in order to save us, had to give His own Son to die on the cross. How much pain must have been in His heart, when His Son was in so much torment and suffering! And Father God suffered alone, while Jesus took all the sin of mankind upon Himself, as the Father had to forsake His own beloved Son for us!
While we think of the pain that the cross brought to God the Father and His Son, we may be more aware that our Father and Lord truly understand us, while we suffer. God is always ready to comfort us in all our hardships and see us through.
If while we are going through a painful season, we choose to comfort and help others who are overwhelmed by their situations, we usually end up realizing that our situation is not as bad as we thought and we actually heal sooner. Whatever we receive from God, we are given to also share, as the Holy Spirit directs us and blesses others too. By doing so, we will never lack.
Suggested prayer: Father God, thank You so very much for all the mercy and comfort You have had for me whenever I needed it. You have always found the best way to help me out and help me heal when I was hurt. Life with You is so much easier. Please help me to be sensitive to other people's needs and do for them what the Holy Spirit directs me to do, so that I may comfort others as You comforted me. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

THE LOVE OF THE BRETHREN
- Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you - 1 Peter 1:22-25
The apostle Peter reminds us that our lives on earth are just a moment compared to eternity and that love is the key for us as Christians to live right and remain in Jesus.
The Holy Spirit purifies our souls as we obey God’s truth, so that we might sincerely and fervently love our brothers in Christ, from a pure heart. We are to love one another with no hidden interests or for personal gain. We were born-again through the incorruptible seed of God’s Word and that changed us into eternal beings that will live forever with their Lord in glory. Those who leave this earth rejecting the Lord until their end, will be separated from God, damned and tormented forever. It sure pays to be obedient to God, sincerely loving Him and fervently loving one another.
Suggested prayer: Thank You Lord for Your love and wisdom. You make all things to work together in harmony and by following Your directions, I can live the best life possible. Please help me understand and receive Your perfect unconditional love so that I can love others in the same way and be with You forever. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

GOD’S WORD IS EVERLASTING
- “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” - Matthew 24:35
From the 15th verse of the same chapter, Jesus started to tell about the events that will precede His return on the clouds, at the rapture of His true church. Jesus was talking about tremendous tribulations that will come in the end times, but we should not be afraid, even if we would still be here, because as He said in verse 33, “when you see all these things, know that the Son of Man is near, right at the door” (NIV). And when He will appear, every eye will see Him and our tribulation will end as we will receive our glorified bodies as we meet our Lord in the air and join Him as He returns to heaven.
Jesus said that we should expect for heaven and earth to pass away, because they will, but His words will not pass away, but they will remain and will be fulfilled. His Word is the absolute, valid truth and we can be sure that whatever our Lord says will always come to pass.
Suggested prayer: Thank You Lord for all the warnings about end times. Please help me never lose heart, but be of great courage that You will see me through and help me remain faithful to You until the end. Lord please help me keep my heart pure and give me more hunger for God’s Word and for Your presence. Please help me always focus on the things from above and not on what belongs to this earth, so that whatever comes my way, I can overcome it with Your help. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

THE 16TH OF AUGUST
IN JESUS WE HAVE REAL STABILITY
- He (God) also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. - Psalms 40:2
The Lord God Almighty brought us out from the “horrible pit” of tumult and destruction. David compares the sinful life with imprisonment in a dungeon, as it happened for real, to Jeremiah. It also reminds us of a dead body in a grave, as we were spiritually dead in a “walking grave,” until we came to Jesus.
Walking on “miry clay,” is practically impossible without sinking and putting a lot of effort to be able to move further. To live without the guidance of the Holy Spirit it feels like that. The “miry clay” symbolizes very unstable ground, a life with poor principles and morals, having a twisted value system. While living like that, there is nothing firm to hold on to, and nothing but a grim future awaits, just like the present.
But since the Holy Spirit touched us and we asked Jesus to come into our hearts and become our Lord, we started to walk on solid ground. The rock means stability, a secure ground where we advance and are able to move, even to a better place. Jesus, is our rock and in Him we have true hope for a better future, for a life worthy to be lived.
Suggested prayer: Thank You Lord for setting me free from the pit of tumult where sin was keeping me imprisoned. Because of Your loving kindness my feet are on the rock, I can walk with little effort and I advance into becoming more and more what You created me to be in the first place.Thank You Father for adopting me into Your family and please help me do Your will, so that I may please You every day of my life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

THE 17TH OF AUGUST
THE LORD IS THERE FOR US NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES
- God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah - Psalms 46:1-3
God is a mighty, impenetrable refuge and only in Him we find true strength. He is always there for us in times of trouble and helps us out, most of the time without us even being aware of how mighty His help was. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, He will never fail to fulfill His promises. No matter what dangers we face, we can always ask the Lord to help us and know that we are protected in Him as our fortress.
We should not be afraid, no matter what our circumstances are. Even if the mountains would be moved into the deep oceans, the storms and earthquakes would cause the waters and mountains to roar and shake, or even if the whole planet earth would disappear, we should continue to trust in the protection we have in our Lord God Almighty.
Many situations in life may compare to what the sons of Korah felt led to write in this psalm, but we can be totally sure that none of them is bigger than our Lord’s strength to protect and take care of us, because we have chosen to live for Him.
Suggested prayer: Father God, You are Almighty and nothing is too hard for You. Please help me never lose heart in the midst of the storms of life and to always set my eyes upon You and trust that You will help me, like You always have. Your Word is the truth, and all Your promises are real and will come to pass. Glory and honor to Your Holy Name for who You are and all You have done and continue to do for me. Thank You Lord, amen!

WITH GOD’S HELP WE CAN OVERCOME ALL SUFFERING
- My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to Your word. Remove from me the way of lying, and grant me Your law graciously. - Psalms 119:28-29
We would never want to feel the heaviness written of in the above verses, but sometimes we do. Life in this decayed world is hard and full of pain and suffering. But because we belong to the Lord, we can always count on His help and protection. When we ask God to strengthen us according to His promises, He does. The more we study the Bible’s promises, the easier it is for the Holy Spirit to bring them fresh to our minds when we need them.
If we only ask God to strengthen us and we do not do our part, accumulating His Word into our hearts, nothing will change. God already did His part in giving us His promises, and now we need to feed our hearts upon them daily. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will remind us of His Word that He has taught us. This means that we are to dig into the Scriptures and learn what they say, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is the truth that helps us discern all the falsehood and unfaithfulness in this world as well as all the lies of the enemy. By learning what God teaches us in His Word, we can live in obedience to Him and be strengthened to be able to walk on the narrow path that leads to heaven.
Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You so very much for teaching me Your ways and for all the wonderful promises in Your Word. Please help me gather Your truth into my heart so that I will not sin against You. I want so much to live right and please You, help me identify all the falsehood and lies in this world and to walk in Your truth being obedient to Your will, in the Name of Jesus, amen.

THE LORD IS THE ROCK AND FORTRESS OF THE BELIEVER
- The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. – Psalms 18:2 (Berean Study Bible)
Once we understand that we can continuously be in the most secure place, we can live the abundant life that Jesus has provided for us. If we let ourselves be worried and stressed over every little thing we have to do, then we cannot have true peace and joy. David wrote the above words, after God delivered him from the hands of all his enemies, including King Saul. We all have enemies at different times in our lives, but we are not alone. Jesus is our fortress and deliverer, we have our security and salvation secure in Him. We can keep our peace by reminding ourselves that we can always take refuge in the safest place possible, under the protective wings of our Lord, as long as we remain in Him and He remains in us.
Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You with all my heart for being my deliverer from all the bad situations of life. You are always my shield and fortress when things go wrong. Dear Jesus, my salvation is secure in You, because You would never let me go from Your hand, as long as I want to be there, and I want to belong to You forever. Please help me to always remember that as long as I remain in You, whenever I call on Your Name, You are there to help and see me through, no matter how bad my circumstances are. Glory and honor to Your holy Name for ever and ever, amen.

HOW TO PLEASE GOD AND BEAR GOOD FRUIT
- hat you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; - Colossians 1:10
Because of our carnal nature, we are not able to walk worthy of the Lord, even after becoming Christians. It is important for all of us to realize that we need to constantly grow in our relationship with Jesus and improve in all areas. The main thing is to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s will to us, as we study the Bible, so that we may grow in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. The more we relate God’s wisdom in all aspects of life, the more secure we feel and the clearer we see the solutions for all issues. We may also better understand what is going on behind the scene and we can evaluate things more accurately, suffering less and being way less confused about what is going on around us.
To walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him is the key of the true Christian life. We are to shine for Jesus, allowing people to see Him in us in everything we say and do. While our behavior is lined up with God’s Word, we bear fruit in every good work that we do and grow in the knowledge of God.
Suggested prayer: Thank You Lord for preparing the way for me to live in a manner worthy of You, pleasing You in all I am and do. Please help me choose right all the time, and change all that You do not like in me or in my life. Lord please reveal me Your will, so that I may shine for Jesus. Please help me to keep a right heart in every good work that I do, so that I will bear fruit and gain heavenly rewards for them. My goal is to grow in the knowledge of You, to become more like Jesus and please You in all that I am and do, but I cannot do it alone, so please help me dear Lord. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

WE CAN HAVE TRUE PATIENCE ONLY THROUGH THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
- Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. - Colossians 1:11-12
Spiritual growth is so rewarding. As we grow in the knowledge of God, we see everything from His perspective and our value system continues to improve. We will have God’s value system only when we will arrive in heaven, but we can constantly grow while we are still in these bodies.
As we focus on the Lord, meditating and feeding on His Word, God’s glorious might continuously strengthens us. God’s wisdom is available and helps us to understand what we should do to have full endurance and patience in every trial of life. The Holy Spirit is just a breath away and gives us all the strength we need, if we ask Him to. Since I learned that I can call on His help no matter what my need is, my life is much easier! It can be the same for all of us. We can truly endure all that God allows on our path and we can joyfully give thanks to our Father, because He has qualified us “to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.” Jesus is the light of the world and we are co-heirs with Him.
Suggested prayer: What great joy it is dear Lord, to realize how much You made available to me through Your sacrifice, glory to God! With the Holy Spirit’s help I can have all the strength I need to endure with patience all the hardships of life and truly keep a thankful heart! Thank You so very much for qualifying me to share the inheritance of the saints in the light. You deserve all my praise, honor and obedience, dear Lord! In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

OUR LORD STRENGTHENS US WHEN WE TRUST HIM
- Have you not known? Have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. - Isaiah 40:28-29
These are beautiful and encouraging verses. Isaiah plays with words and the way he does it makes the statements even more interesting. We all love to hear something new, and our curiosity increases once we read the first questions. As we continue reading, we are rewarded with great, life-changing news. God is the Creator of everything in the material world, and of the universe itself. He is so great and never tired. This means that we can always count on His help and protection, because He never needs rest or sleep.
Our Lord always pays attention to everything in and around us. God knows all. His understanding is the deepest possible and beyond our capacity of comprehension. In all His knowledge and understanding of what we go through, He gives us the strength we need when we are weary, so that we can continue on His path. Most of us had have times in our lives when we knew that in our own abilities, we could not make even more step, and God’s strength came to our rescue. Even if we did not know God at the time, we were in His plan of salvation, and it was His strength that kept us going. All we need to do is accept His help, focus on Him and allow His might to strengthen us.
Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, I am so blessed to be Your child! In You I have all my needs met and can do all that I have to do. You take the best care of me, and I can never thank You enough for all You do. Please help me choose to praise You no matter what and never doubt that You are there for me in every situation. You never leave nor forsake me and I do not want to leave You either. You know all things in detail as nothing is hidden from You, so please help me never doubt Your help and strength. Glory and honor to Your Holy Name, now and forever, amen.

THE LORD IS OUR LIGHT, STRENGTH AND SALVATION
- The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? - Psalms 27:1
Is this the truth in your life? If it is not yet, it can be. All it takes is to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, He died for your sins, repent and ask Him to forgive you and become Your Lord and Savior. (You may read more in the articles from the “Are you right with God today?” section).
As long as Jesus is our Lord and Savior, we should live free from fear of anyone or anything and walk in His light. Because we belong to God, we are in the safest place possible. He is our Lord Almighty, there is nothing stronger than Him and He desires the best for us. We are called to have intimacy with God, so that we get to know Him fully so that we may follow His lead and counsel for our every step. Whenever we follow God’s guidance nothing can touch us. He always gives us the best directions and He equips us ahead of time for everything He asks us to do. So, as long as we do not count on our own strength but on God’s, there is nothing we should be afraid of!
Suggested prayer: I praise and honor You, Lord God Almighty! Because You are my Lord, You are my strength and protection. Please help me to always put You first, give You all the glory and respect You deserve for who You are and for what You constantly do for me. As long as I remain in You, I know I am protected because You remain in me. There is nothing that can cross the hedge of protection You set around me without Your permission. Thank You with all my heart for all Your help and care in seeing me through all the hardships of life, in Jesus’ name, amen.

WHEN WE LOVE GOD WE ARE TRULY HAPPY
- So the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing shall flee away. - Isaiah 51:11
All those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and abide in Him, are the ransomed and the redeemed. Jesus redeemed us with His blood and by His power we receive joyful deliverance from every enemy. While living in these bodies, so many things happen to us it is hard for us to always remain joyful 100% of the time. But the more we love our Lord and long for more of Him, we seek to spend more time in His presence and as a result, His gladness fills our hearts, overcoming our sorrows.
All those who love God are much happier than those who do not. When we love someone, we do our best to please them and we are to do the same with our Lord. God delights in our sincere praise and worship. When God is pleased with us, we taste the most wonderful and long-lasting joy and happiness. God’s gladness, makes the sadness to vanish away!
Suggested prayer: What a joy it is to be in Your presence, my Lord. I am so blessed to be Your child and to know that it is Your will for me to rejoice in You. Your plan for my life is the best, so please help me to fulfill it, step by step. In Your great wisdom, You set the best path for my feet and I am so honored to be led by You to be able to walk on it. Lord, please help me through Your Holy Spirit to praise and worship You and to keep my heart pure. Thank You for all the joy and true happiness that I find in You, everyday of my life, amen.

THE LORD REVIVES, PROTECTS AND SAVES US
- Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands - Psalms 138:7-8
There have been many occasions for most of us, while going through hard times, when our Lord gave us strength and revived us, when we prayed and asked for help. Whenever we are under attack, the Lord’s hand preserves us from the anger of our foes and saves us from all evil.
We are so blessed to belong to the most High God! He will always do the best for us and fulfill His purpose in our lives. God does not enjoy seeing us suffer and He allows only the trials that will help us change, become more spiritually mature and fulfill His purposes. We are the work of God’s hands, and He always loves us and wants us to overcome every hardship in life so that we can be with Him forever.
Suggested prayer: Thank You Lord, that whenever I walk in the midst of trouble, You protect me from all evil and You stretch out Your hand to save me. I am so blessed to know that as long as I want to be Yours, You will get me to where Your purpose will be fulfilled in me and Your love and mercy for me endures forever. Lord, please show me what I need to change in my life and help me to do it, so that I may please You, in the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

JESUS IS PREPARING THE PLACE WHERE WE CAN BE WITH HIM FOREVER
- “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in Me as well. In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” - John 14:1-2 (BSB - Berean Study Bible)
Jesus encouraged His disciples after some disturbing events. In the previous chapter, the Lord had indicated Judas as a traitor and told Peter that He would deny Him. For sure these things did not sit well with many of them, so the Lord taught them, and us, a very important truth. It is up to us to not let our hearts be troubled, no matter what happens. What we allow our minds to think about will make us happy or sad, courageous or fearful, trustful or doubtful, and so on.
We may prevent sadness by believing that our Lord is more than able to solve our problems and see us through. We also have strong reason not to be troubled, if we focus on the fact that Jesus is preparing a special place in His Father’s heavenly home for each of us. Our Lord knows what we truly like and what we are wired for. The place He is preparing for each one of us, fits perfectly with our personalities and desires. We will get to enjoy living in the best home possible in the most perfect location, in heaven, for all eternity.
Suggested prayer: My beloved Jesus, even when You were so close to dying for our sins, You chose to encourage, love and bless Your loved ones. You are the true, real love. Thank You so very much for all You did for me and for helping me understand that I can choose to not be upset based upon my circumstances, but rather trust You and focus on the most perfect home You are preparing for me in heaven, where I can enjoy Your presence for all eternity. Thank You for everything, from the bottom of my heart, amen.

THE 27TH OF AUGUST
WE CAN OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE THROUGH THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
- We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed - 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
The apostles went through very hard times for their belief in Jesus. They suffered all kinds of persecution, and as Paul wrote here, they chose to see the good in every bad situation they had to go through. We can learn great lessons from their examples. If we start to praise Jesus and thank Him for all the good in our lives when going through suffering, the Holy Spirit will strengthen us, and we can be victorious.
Even if what we are going through cannot be compared with what Jesus or even the apostles suffered, we may find ourselves at times in life hard-pressed from all sides, but we can be sure that our Lord will not allow us to be crushed. Circumstances might shock us, but because we trust in Jesus and know that He will help us overcome, we keep our hope alive and not despair. Even if others are persecuting us for our faith and even our relatives and friends forsake us, our Lord remains in us and strengthens us. Whenever trials are so hard that they could strike us down, we cannot be destroyed, because our Lord will get us back on our feet, as we continue to call on Him and trust in His strength, love and mercy.
Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, I love you so much and I know that I can do all things, in You who strengthens me. Every time I choose to praise You, during trials, I get my peace and joy back and I overcome whatever I am going through. Please help me to always focus on You, to worship You no matter what happens and find my joy in pleasing You. I do not like trials and pain, but I know that You use them to help me grow in You and to change what must be changed in me. So please help me keep a pure heart and the right attitude while going through hardships, so that I will pass the test and not have to go through the same test again and again. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

THE 28TH OF AUGUST
WE NEED TO TRUST THE LORD AND OBEY HIS WILL, NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES
- Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: - Hebrews 10:35-36
There are times in life when we are tested to the extreme for quite some time, and often times there seems to be no way out. These are the times when we should not throw away our confidence in God’s love and in the fact that He is still there for us, even if He seems quiet and it feels like He does not care. Our Lord’s love is perfect, unconditional and constant. His love for us is not based upon our performance, but on who He is. We are never a surprise to Him, even if at times, our reactions, thoughts and emotions are surprising to us.
No matter what our circumstances, our faith in trusting God, gives us the confidence and courage through difficult times. When Jesus comes on the clouds to take us with Him, He will reward us for all the good works that we have done with the right heart and motivation. But if we do not have patience, we cannot do God’s will and endure until the end to receive His promise of salvation. The tests that we pass help change us into mature Christians, that live to glorify God and overcome all the trials, keeping a good attitude and enjoying life.
Suggested prayer: Father please help me not to give up the fight, while going through hardships, but to pass every test so that I will receive Your rewards. Please give me patience and help me have the right perspective on things, so that I may continue to obey Your will even when I do not necessarily like it and to enjoy my everyday life until the end. Thank You for promising me eternal life with You in heaven and please help me to receive it. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

THE 29TH OF AUGUST
GOD WANTS US TO BE WITH HIM FOREVER
- Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; - Philippians 1:6
The apostle Paul knew that it was God’s grace that had begun a good work in the Philippians and that it is true for us today also. Once we accept God’s grace, we can be confident that God will finish what He starts to do in us. When we are born-again through faith in Jesus Christ, our spirits change, but our minds and emotions remain the same. In order for them to change, it takes determination and effort on our part. But no matter how much we want to change, if we do not work together with the Holy Spirit, no change will ever last.
Our Lord is faithful and He wants us to be transformed and fit for heaven. God has sent His Holy Spirit to work with us, as He is the best Helper and Counselor possible. By studying and meditating on God’s Word, we learn what we need to change. By asking the Holy Spirit to show and reveal to us the Bible verses that show the truth in the area we need change, and by proclaiming them until they become real in our spirits, we can start the improvement process and overcome our weaknesses.
Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You so much for Your grace and for making a way for me to change and overcome my weaknesses, addictions and bad habits. Lord please show me how to pray correctly and what does Your Word say about my shortcomings. Please help me to fully understand the truth and to repeat it until I believe it in my spirit, so that it will change me. You have always helped me and I trust in Your help for overcoming__ (state what you need to change) too. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

THE 30TH OF AUGUST
GOD PROTECTS THOSE WHO LOVE HIM
- Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful and fully repays the proud person. Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord. - Psalms 31:23-24
When we love the Lord with all our hearts, we wish that all people would do the same, so they can also find happiness and fulfillment in a life of faith. It takes a humble heart to follow God and give up on ruling our own lives in favor of Jesus. But once we give it all to Jesus, He takes better care of us than we ever could, as well as He protects and preserves us. Earlier in the psalm, David referred to the persecutors and enemies of God’s faithful ones. They are called the proud ones, because of their rebellion against God’s will and their bad behavior toward the faithful ones. Their sin of disobedience came at a high price as there was nothing to prevent the devil from hurting them. It is still true today. Sin that is not followed by true repentance, gives the enemy the legal right to hurt the sinner and leads to spiritual death.
But when our hope is in the Lord, we rely on the Beloved of our hearts. No matter what comes our way, we can be strong in Jesus and in His promises that never fail us. The strength that comes from our Lord while going through hardships, cannot be obtained from any other source. God’s grace is always enough for us, and we can trust the Lord for it.
Suggested prayer: Thank You Father God for protecting and taking care of me when the evil one comes against me. You are always there for me when I call on Your Name and You show me the best way out of all bad situations. Thank You Jesus, because I am already a victor in You, and You give me all the grace I need to overcome the bad situations. I love You Lord with all my heart. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.

THE 31ST OF AUGUST
THE LORD STRENGTHENS AND PROTECTS US FROM THE EVIL ONE
- But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. - 2 Thessalonians 3:3
Everything that God has promised in His Word is true and He is faithful to fulfill all His promises. Starting with the first book of the Old Testament, in Genesis 3:15, God promised the birth of Jesus that would come through the woman and bruise the devil’s head. And even though God knew from the beginning how much Jesus would have to suffer, He kept His promise. Jesus came in a human body, born through a woman and the devil bruised the Lord’s heel, thinking that through death he defeated Jesus. But Jesus won, He had the victory over Satan as He was raised from the dead and now He is seated at the right hand of His Father, and we are seated in Him.
After His resurrection, Jesus received all the authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18), and as long as we remain in our Lord and He remains in us, we have authority in His name to resist the devil too. Our Lord strengthens and guards us from the evil one and we are truly safe in Him. We know that the enemy cannot do anything against us unless the Lord allows it. God loves us and He does not want us to suffer in vain. He allows only the hardships that He uses for our benefit in the long term.
Suggested prayer: Glory and honor to Your holy name dear Lord! I can trust You no matter what my circumstances are because You are faithful, and You always fulfill Your promises! Thank You Lord for giving me all the strength I need when I am weak and for protecting me from the evil one. Whenever I ask, You give me the strength to overcome all his attacks and temptations. Lord, please help me always know that I have authority against the enemy, in the Name of Jesus and I can resist him whenever he comes against me. Thank You so much my Lord for the victory I have in You. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.
